Meet the Founder

Geoff Piper, Founder & Principal Attorney: Geoff Piper is the Founder and Principal Attorney of Focus Point Law, P.C. Licensed in California with over 20 years of experience, Geoff delivers fractional General Counsel services that help clients close global transactions, operationalize compliance, scale teams, and launch products with confidence. Geoff’s practice spans IP strategy, AI governance, privacy infrastructure, SaaS and IT transactions, and Entertainment and media. He’s advised innovators across enterprise software, robotics, HR tech, cybersecurity, IoT, and digital media—including music, television, and film. Prior to founding Focus Point Law, Geoff led and assisted in various aspects of companies like Box, Mozilla, Gracenote, Elo Touch Solutions and ITVS, and served as CEO and lead inventor at Soniq Labs.

Of Counsel & Advisors

  • Isaac Hager, Of Counsel: Isaac Hager serves as Of Counsel to Focus Point Law. Licensed in New York and California, and qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales, Isaac contributes legal insight and collaborates on select matters under a consulting arrangement. While not a member of the firm, he supports strategic planning, client advisement, and project-specific engagements that benefit from his specialized expertise. Before entering private practice in 2021, Isaac served for fifteen years as Head of Business & Legal Affairs at ITVS in San Francisco. He previously worked in the Intellectual Property department at Maclay Murray & Spens (now Dentons) in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Scotland. Isaac also serves as outside counsel for PBS SoCal. He has taught an undergraduate entertainment law class at UC Berkeley and advises independent film producers, financiers, and distributors.

  • Amar Murugan, Strategic Advisor: Amar Murugan serves as a Strategic Advisor to Focus Point Law. Licensed in California, Amar contributes legal insight and collaborates on select matters under a consulting arrangement. While not a member of the firm, he supports strategic planning and client engagements on a project-specific basis. Amar most recently served as Chief Legal Officer of ACELYRIN, Inc., prior to its merger with Alumis, Inc. in May 2025. He previously held senior legal leadership roles at Atara Biotherapeutics and Assertio Therapeutics, and was a partner at Baker Botts and McDermott Will & Emery, representing technology and life sciences companies in financings, M&A, and corporate securities. Amar holds a B.S. from Georgetown University and a J.D. from UCLA.
